Legend has it that many years ago the house with the giraffe in the yard was owned by a big drug dealer in the Wilmington, NC area. Incoming deliveries were made via the ICW and the giraffe was used to ID the delivery point. It has resided there for many, many years.
The link under the heading "Ship's Log Data" will take you to an unreadable file unless you happen to understand GPS data.
If you have Google Earth installed and are browsing with Internet Explorer merely left click on one of the "Ships log GPS data" links and it will present a zip file to open in a dialog box. So click open on the file and it will then present another dialog box with a KML file. Double click on the file to open the tracks in Google Earth.
